As of 2021, the Northeast corridor linking Boston with Washington DC was the longest and only highspeed rail line in use in the United States, representing a network of nearly 735 kilometers. Other highspeed rail projects are planned for the following decades, with the Bakersfield-to-Anaheim line planned for construction in 2033. Of these projects, the Denver-to-Albuquerque line is expected to be the longest with 560 kilometers.
