Neodymium doped aluminum phosphate glass has excellent optical and thermomechanical properties, and has application value in high-power laser systems. This study investigated the effect of B2O3 content on the properties and structure of 60P2O5-10Al2O3-15K2O-15BaO-0.5Nd2O3-xB2O3 (x=0, 1, 3, 5, 10 mol%) glass. Physical, chemical, thermal, and mechanical properties were measured. The spectral characteristics were studied using the Judd Ofelt method, and the structural properties were analyzed using Raman and nuclear magnetic resonance methods. The results indicate that B3+ions are only doped in the form of [BO4] tetrahedra and connected to [PO4] tetrahedra through P-O-B bonds, thereby enhancing the glass network. Meanwhile, the coordination number of Al3+ions decreases. Explained the relationship between glass structure and performance.
