We collected research articles regarding soil organic carbon (SOC) change following long-term fertilization in Chinese paddy soil. A keyword search was conducted via Web of Science, SCOPUS, and CNKI until April 2022, with search terms “long-term fertilization”, “fertilization”, “organic carbon”, “paddy”, and “rice” (and a combination of them). On aggregate, an initial of 1298 studies was obtained. The collected literature was further screened based on the following criteria. i) Only field experiments with durations longer than 3 years in China, and ii) design allowing pairwise comparison between fertilization treatments and controls (without fertilizers) were included, besides, iii) soil samples were collected during the rice season. iv) The means and the number of replicates of target variables were reported clearly. We also used WebPlotDigitizer (version 3.8) software to extract data only presented in the figures.. Based on these criteria, a total of 168 individual studies including 686 paired data of SOC were retrieved in our study.

本数据集收集了关于中国稻田土壤长期施肥后土壤有机碳(Soil Organic Carbon, SOC)变化的研究论文。研究团队通过Web of Science、SCOPUS及中国知网(CNKI)三大数据库,以"长期施肥""施肥""有机碳""稻田""水稻"及其组合作为检索词,截至2022年4月开展了关键词检索,初步共获取1298篇相关研究。随后依据以下标准对检索到的文献进行筛选:① 仅纳入中国境内开展、持续时长超过3年的田间试验;② 试验设计需支持施肥处理与不施肥对照的两两比较;③ 土壤样品采集于水稻生育季;④ 目标变量的均值与重复次数均有明确报道。此外,本研究还使用WebPlotDigitizer(版本3.8)软件提取仅以图表形式展示的数据。经上述标准筛选后,本研究最终纳入168项独立研究,共获取686组土壤有机碳配对数据。
