Thornton Smith, Alhambra, California, USA. Smith would later become a realtor and postmaster of Temple City. The man, a farmer, wears a work shirt, pants, suspenders and a hat as he stands to the right. The team of four horses are the main focus. The horses are all strapped into a plowing device dragging on the ground behind them. They are standing in a hay strewn open field with a row of trees directly behind them. Partial view of a multi story building to the left. The photograph includes the photographer's stamp on the reverse. The item is in good condition with minor surface soiling.
