La costruzione simbolica della pandemia e il suo rapporto con il contesto

Institutional responses to the pandemic crisis have at best interpreted health in physical terms, but marginalised on the one hand the psychological side of well-being, on the other hand the dependence of this aspect on contextual conditions attributable to the way of interpreting the crisis and responding to it. Referring to the semiotic-cultural perspective and the construct of Symbolic Universes, I will try in this paper to highlight how the psychological and social impact of the pandemic is mediated by the processes of constructing meaning; processes that do not develop in the social vacuum, nor are they a simple reaction to a new emerging problem, but reflect psychosocial conditions and feed on the institutional answers and discourses. The promotion of symbolic resources underpinning peoplÉs capacity to deal with the crisis is now a priority task; psychology can contribute to support it if in turn it will be able to assume as a field of intervention the coexistence and the symbolic and cultural dynamics that underline it.

针对此次疫情危机的制度性应对举措，充其量仅从生理层面诠释健康，却一方面边缘化了福祉的心理维度，另一方面忽视了该维度与特定情境条件的关联性——而此类情境条件由对危机的解读与应对方式所塑造。本文将依托符号文化视角与符号宇宙（Symbolic Universes）这一理论建构，试图阐明：疫情所带来的心理与社会影响，经由意义建构过程得以传导；此类意义建构并非产生于社会真空，亦非对新兴问题的简单应激反应，而是折射出特定的社会心理状态，并以制度性应对与相关话语为滋养。当下，支撑民众应对危机能力的符号性资源的推广，已成为一项优先任务；若心理学能够将彰显共存关系与符号文化动力的领域作为自身干预场域，则可为该任务提供支持。
