Gender Perception Survey for Energy Access and Use (2020)

Gender Perception Survey for Energy Access and Use (2020) aims to understand the intra-household gender differences in decision-making, perceptions, preferences, satisfaction and willingness to pay for household energy use (including electricity, lighting and cooking fuel). To capture the perceptions of the female and male members of the household, the survey was conducted with the primary cook of the household and their spouse. The survey captures the details about the socio-economic condition of the household, intrahousehold differences in agency, decision making, usage, perceptions, preferences, satisfaction and willingness to pay for household energy sources (including electricity, lighting and cooking fuel). The survey includes 2,312 urban slum and rural households across six states in India - Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. The survey has a total of 4,624 responses from 2,312 households.
