FROM INFORMATION TO PREPAREDNESS: PRE-DEPARTURE ORIENTATION AS A STRATEGIC TOOL FOR SAFE AND SKILLS-ORIENTED MIGRATION
收藏资源简介:
This study examines the growing importance of Pre-Departure Orientation (PDO) in global labour migration systems. The research investigates how PDO contributes to migrant preparedness, labour market adaptation, and migrant protection. Using qualitative analysis based on international migration governance literature and comparative experiences from countries such as Nepal, the Philippines, India, and Uzbekistan, the article evaluates the effectiveness of current PDO systems. The findings show that traditional lecture-based PDO models are insufficient for addressing modern migration challenges. The study demonstrates that interactive, digitally integrated, and migrant-centred PDO systems significantly improve legal awareness, workplace adaptation, occupational safety, and psychosocial preparedness. The article concludes that PDO should be integrated into broader migration governance and human capital development strategies.
