Community of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi associated with plants in neotropical dry forest in Brazil

Our aim was to characterize the mycorrhizal community associated with Tripogonella spicata (so-called resurrection plant) and Neoglaziovia variegata (so-called Caroa) using high-throughput sequencing. Both plants are endemic to the Caatinga biome, located in northeastern Brazil, and have been the subject of bioprospecting aiming to select potential microbes associated with plant resistance to drought stress.
