beta_df dataset for longitudinal transmission analysis (Deffner et al., 2024) – replication project

This dataset (beta_df.RDS) contains simulated longitudinal data used to reproduce the Bayesian inference results reported in Deffner et al. (2024), "Bridging theory and data: A computational workflow for cultural evolution". The data are used to estimate the posterior distributions of the conformity exponent (θ) and the innovation rate (μ) within a generative model of cultural transmission implemented in Stan. The dataset is part of a replication project developed in the course "Gestión de Proyectos de Investigación". The goal of the project is to reproduce the posterior distributions of θ and μ reported in Figure 4B of the original article using the provided probabilistic model and MCMC sampling methods. The dataset is used together with the analysis scripts contained in the associated GitHub repository of the project.
