A cohort contains 46 healthy volunteers (CON), 21 chronic dacryoadenitis patients without antibiotics pre-treatment (DC), 12 chronic dacryoadenitis patients with antibiotics pre-treatment (DCA), 5 chronic dacryocanaliculitis patients (TTI), 5 patients with ocular mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT), and 4 patients with stenosis of lacrimal canaliculus (SLC) were recruited in the present study and their ocular microbiota of conjunctival sac secretions were identified using 16S rRNA gene sequencing. Further, the longitudinal ocular (1, 2, and 4 weeks) changes after dacryocystorhinostomy associated with or without the antibiotics pre-treatment in chronic dacryoadenitis patients were studied and compared with their ocular microbiota before the surgery.
