Wolverine in the slipstream: A systematic review of caribou-focused conservation benefits, gaps and uncertainties for wolverine in Canada

We examine the strengths and weaknesses of a coordinated management approach in Canada, between woodland caribou (Rangifer tarandus caribou) and (wolverine (Gulo gulo), both Species at Risk that overlap in their distribution and ecology. We reviewed Canadian conservation documentation (51 woodland caribou, 14 wolverine documents), and North American scientific literature (550 woodland caribou, 167 wolverine peer-reviewed articles) to quantify overlap in commonly listed threats, and recovery actions.
