This dataset was used in an evaluation of Norsk Folkemuseum's audience offering. The aim was to divide the audience/population into different target groups, to better tailor the museum's offerings. The background for the project was that Norsk Folkemuseum needed more knowledge about the audience, target groups and response to the existing offerings. Four target groups were constructed based on social, economic and cultural background. The project also attempted to place Norsk Folkemuseum in the museum landscape in terms of who visits which museum. Furthermore, it sought to evaluate the existing offerings. The main findings were that Norsk Folkemuseum has a diverse and multifaceted audience, and that most associate the museum with old brown houses.
