R/V Pelican Water and Sediment Chemistry with Associated Microbial Analysis, Gulf of Mexico, April 22 - April 28, 2008

This dataset includes sedimentary porewater profiles of sulfate and methane concentrations, 13C of methane and carbon dioxide, and chloride concentrations) of a sediment gravity core from the upper continental slope of the northwestern Gulf of Mexico (MC118) in 2008, 15 km from the spill site. Data were collected by pore-water extraction at different sediment depths down the core and analysis by ion chromatography, gas chromatography, and isotope ratio spectrometry.
