In the study, gut microbiota were analyzed in C57BL/6J and AKR/J mice and when they were cohousing or using fecal microbiota transplantation from each or from feces of patients with/without gallstone disease. Biochemical analysis were performed for bile acid profiles. Hepatic gene expression were also measured for those involved in cholesterol and bile acid metabolism.
