Anti-mite test and property analyses of bamboo vinegar

In this research, the bamboo vinegar is collected as a co-product with bamboo charcoal, manufactured from pyrolysis of Phyllostachys edulis (Maso bamboo) by TFRI research group. The pH values and specific gravities of bamboo vinegar were measured to be in the ranges of 2.6~3.6 and 1.01~1.02 respectively. Besides, the organic acid contents and soluble tar contents of bamboo vinegar were observed to be in the ranges of 5.5~9.0% and 0.3~0.5% respectively. An amount of 50 ml bamboo vinegar is mixed well with solvents diethyl ether and ethyl acetate in the separatory funnel sequentially to separate the organic components from water. The 2 organic layers and water layer are collected individually and the amount of water layer is measured to determine its percentage contents being 80~90%. The anti-house dust mite (Dermatophagoides farinae) properties of both original bamboo vinegar and 2 organic layers had been examined to reveal that the ether layer expressed the best mite-inhibitive rate with 100% mortality of house dust mite after 24 hrs. The original bamboo vinegar and 2 organic layers were analysed by GC-MS to detect their major components and the ether layer was determined to contain the most abundant organic components. 本研究中,竹醋液(bamboo vinegar)作为竹炭的联产产物,由TFRI研究团队以毛竹(Phyllostachys edulis,Maso bamboo)为原料经热解制备得到。经测定,竹醋液的pH值范围为2.6~3.6,比重范围为1.01~1.02;其有机酸含量与可溶性焦油含量分别处于5.5%~9.0%与0.3%~0.5%的区间内。取50 mL竹醋液,依次在分液漏斗中与乙醚(diethyl ether)、乙酸乙酯(ethyl acetate)混合,以实现有机组分与水相的分离。分别收集两层有机相与水相,测定水相体积后计算得其占比为80%~90%。对原始竹醋液及两层有机相开展抗屋尘螨(Dermatophagoides farinae)活性测试,结果显示乙醚相表现出最优的抑螨效果,24小时内可使屋尘螨死亡率达100%。采用气相色谱-质谱联用(GC-MS)对原始竹醋液及两层有机相进行成分分析,结果表明乙醚相所含有机组分丰度最高。最后,通过电感耦合等离子体(ICP)对水相进行检测,发现其中含有钾(K)、钙(Ca)、铁(Fe)、钠(Na)、铝(Al)、硼(B)、铋(Bi)及锌(Zn)等离子。
