Data File Name and ID: Xinglong Fine Particulate Matter Mass Concentration Dataset (2010) from Chinese Background Areas; (1 file in total)

This file includes one table of hourly average concentration records for PM2.5 and/or PM10 in 2010. It contains concentration measurements of atmospheric fine particulate matter PM2.5 and/or PM10 from background regions.

The development objectives of this dataset are as follows:
1. To investigate the long-term variation patterns of atmospheric fine particulate matter in background regions;
2. To gain insights into the dynamic distribution, spatio-temporal pattern and evolutionary trend of fine particulate matter in background areas of China;
3. To provide basic parameters and validation data for model simulation and satellite retrieval of spatio-temporal distribution of atmospheric aerosols;
4. To offer accurate scientific foundational datasets for relevant research teams, serving students and researchers engaged in atmospheric environment and atmospheric chemistry studies.

Data collection was conducted in 2010. The data collection site is the Meteorological Observatory of Xinglong Ecological Research Station, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Xinglong: 40°23' North latitude, 117°34.5' East longitude.
