Every 5 years, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) conducts the Global Forest Resources Assessment (FRA), which regularly monitors the management and utilization of the world's forests and compiles assessment reports. Sustainably managed forests provide essential goods and services, thus playing an extremely important and integral role in sustainable development. Up-to-date and reliable information on the status of forest resources is critical to supporting investment and policy decisions related to forestry and sustainable development. This dataset contains the 2015 global forest assessment information, and the report covers topics such as sustainable forest management, forest degradation, biodiversity and others. The report is available in both English and Chinese versions.
