William and James Glasgow Papers, 1833-1872

<P>William and James Glasgow were merchants from St. Louis involved in the Santa Fe trade, 1846-1848. The brothers returned to St. Louis in 1848 and opened a grocery wholesale business.</P>

<P>Collection includes correspondence to various family members from William and James Glasgow. Also includes a letterbook by William Henry Glasgow of a trip through Mexico in 1842-1843, with a typescript by Prof. Ralph Bieber. Most of the collection consists of photocopies of original letters.</P>
