In this study, we characterize the cyclical fluctuation and effects of ad libitum high-fat diet consumption and TRF feeding on mice cecal content microbial functions. We collected cecal content samples from mice in these three diet and feeding regimens (FA, FT, and NA) every four hours for 24 hours. Metagenomic and Metatranscriptome sequencing was performed on the cecal content and the genes and transcripts analyzed for diversity, circadian rhythmicity and differential expressions.
