British Social Attitudes Survey, 1983-1998 : Employment Data

The aims of the project were:<br> to develop knowledge and understanding of the changing role of trades unions in the workplace, as perceived by employees;<br> in particular, to establish the influence trade unions have on workplace governance, and how this may have changed over time, identifying factors associated with better and worse governance;<br> to produce policy interpretations of the main findings so as to inform the policy debate surrounding the 'Fairness at Work' White Paper and the new statutory procedures for union recognition.<br> The data are items relating to employment taken from the British Social Attitudes Surveys (BSA), 1983-1998, plus a number of derived variables. Care has been taken to produce variables that are consistent across the series. The original BSA datasets are all held at the UK Data Archive - see under GN:33168.

本项目的研究目标如下：<br>其一，系统构建雇员视角下职场工会角色变迁的认知体系与相关知识；<br>其二，明确工会对职场治理的影响机制及其随时间的演变轨迹，并甄别出与治理成效优劣相关的各类影响因素；<br>其三，针对核心研究成果开展政策解读，为围绕《工作公平》（Fairness at Work）白皮书及工会认可新法定程序的政策辩论提供决策参考。<br>本数据集包含1983年至1998年英国社会态度调查（British Social Attitudes Surveys, BSA）中与就业相关的条目，以及若干衍生变量。研究团队已严格确保系列变量间的一致性。原始BSA数据集均存档于英国数据档案馆（UK Data Archive），具体编号详见GN:33168。
