Data Set: High methane ebullition throughout one year in a regulated central European stream

We present an extensive data set of 158 methane (CH4) ebullition measurements from a small central-European stream, taken at four characteristic positions in one cross section and covering a whole year. CH4 fluxes of up to 30 mmol m-2 d-1 were observed with volume fluxes partly above 1000 ml m-2 d-1. CH4 fluxes remained high throughout the year. Fluxes were highest in the center of the stream.
In addition, a data set of three vertical pore-water CH4 concentration gradients and carbon stable isotope measurements of CH4 are presented. Relevant anions and cations were also measured. Profiles were taken with pore-water dialysis samplers (peepers) in the same cross section as ebullition measurements.
