The genome of Populus alba x Populus tremula var. glandulosa clone 84K

Poplar 84K (Populus alba x P. tremula var. glandulosa) is a fast-growing poplar hybrid. Originated in the South Korea, this hybrid has been extensively cultivated in northern China. Due to the economic and ecological importance of this poplar hybrid, and particularly due to its high transformability by Agrobacterium tumefaciens for exploration of gene function, we now report its de novo genome sequencing and assembly.

84K杨（Populus alba × P. tremula var. glandulosa）是一种速生杨杂交品种。该杂交品种起源于韩国，目前已在我国北方地区广泛栽培。鉴于该杨属杂交品种在经济与生态层面的重要价值，尤其是其可被根癌农杆菌（Agrobacterium tumefaciens）高效转化以开展基因功能研究，本研究报道了其从头（de novo）基因组测序与组装结果。
