This invention pertains to a preparation method for sodium lignosulfonate/polystyrene-based activated carbon microspheres, falling within the technical field of activated carbon. This method uses powdery sodium lignosulfonate as the raw material to prepare an activated carbon precursor, followed by carbonization and activation to obtain the target activated carbon microspheres. The raw materials used in this preparation method are low-cost. Compared with existing technologies, this method omits the process step of molding powdery raw materials or powdery activated carbon with binders, thereby avoiding the use of binders that tend to cause environmental pollution, which is beneficial to environmental protection. This method adopts a one-step carbonization and activation process, resulting in simple preparation steps, strong operability, and convenient temperature regulation. Using steam activation avoids the environmental pollution caused by the use of activators in chemical activation, making this method suitable for large-scale industrial production of the products of this invention.
