<b>So you want a lab handbook?</b>Welcome! If you’re reading this, you probably want your lab to have a handbook. Perhaps you ended up here after hearing about how lab handbooks can improve group culture and help people do better research. Maybe you’re not sure about how to do it, or are daunted by the process; it’s a lot of work after all! We hope this resource will guide you through the process, so you can focus on actually creating your handbook, rather than worrying about how to do it.We made this resource based on our experiences working with multiple pilot lab groups in the University of York Biology Department. Through doing this, we tried to make it accessible to groups of different sizes, who work on different topics in a variety of ways. You don’t have to be a principal investigator (PI) or line manager yourself this resource is for anyone who wants to create a lab handbook with others in their group regardless of role, experience or career stage.
