Hotspots of sequence variability in E. coli genes tcpC, pks island and usp

This dataset contains deep sequence reads for DNA fragments that were PCR-amplified from stool DNA extracted from either individuals with colorectal cancer or healthy controls. We used primers specific for either of the following genes: usp, tcpC or pks island (clbN gene). The purpose of the study was to generate deep-sequencing data to allow for the detection of sequence variants of these genes in a stool sample by the method known as oligotyping.
