The manganese oxidation potential of functional microalgae Desmodesmus sp. is more significant than that of other algae strains.Manganese oxide is generated while manganese is removed, and can be used as an oxidation adsorbent to promote organic matter degradation and heavy metal adsorption. At the same time, among all kinds of natural plant-like denitrification substrates used, sawdust as nitrogen removal substrate has the advantages of low cost, high carbon and nitrogen ratio, long utility time and no need of much maintenance, and has a good performance in practical application. Therefore, in view of the high content of Mn2+, ammonia nitrogen and nitrate nitrogen in the tail water of electrolytic manganese plant, this study chose sawdust as denitrification substrate, and introduced functional microalgae into electrolytic manganese wastewater to combine manganese oxidation and denitrification, and constructed a manganese oxidation recovery and repair device composed of functional microalgae and sawdust. Through indoor simulation experiments, the application potential of this microalgae enhanced denitrification system in treating electrolytic manganese wastewater was explored.
