MODIS is a critical sensor onboard the Terra and Aqua satellites. It is the only space-borne instrument aboard these satellites that directly broadcasts real-time observation data to the entire world via the X-band, and whose data can be freely received and used without charge. MOD13A1 is a Level 2 standard land data product, which is a 16-day composite global vegetation index product with a spatial resolution of 500 meters.
