As part of a project to study vibriosis, Vibrio spp. strains belonging to new species were previously isolated. This study describes the genome study of 6 Harveyi clade strains. After IonTorrent and Nanopore sequencing, hybrid assemblies were built, used for identification, and annoted to study genome structure and gene content. The identification step allowed to reclassify reference strain LMG10946, which was previously identified as V. harveyi. Interestingly, 2 strains did not feature the chromosomal super integron that is usually found in Vibrio genomes. Two strains hosted a megaplasmid, and one strain featured 60 genomic islands, which exceeds the amount usually reported in the literature.This is the first description of species V. aquavillaticus, V. aktogrammi, V. villaticus, and, V. garides based on genome sequences.
