Key players in buy now pay later (BNPL) in Ireland 2015-2023

Klarna remained the most-downloaded BNPL app in Ireland in 2021 and 2022, while FlexiFi slowed down. This according to an estimate using nearly 150 different buy now, pay later brands from across the world. Klarna arrived in the Republic of Ireland in November 2021 and in the two following months got nearly 38,000 downloads. FlexiFi, on the other hand, is a domestic BNPL provider that got taken over by Australia's humm in 2021. Australian BNPL providers are said to be present in Ireland, but no figures were available for the likes of LayBuy or Clearpay.
