Bacterial swimming near a liquid-liquid interface
收藏资源简介:
# Bacterial swimming near a liquid-liquid interface Numerical data for a flagellated bacterium swimming above a liquid-liquid interface. The viscosity ratio is the viscosity of the lower fluid divided by that of the fluid containing the swimmer. | Folder | Contents ||---|---|| `01_flow` | Flow fields in the xy and yz planes for the shear-free and no-slip limits (Fig. 1). || `02_swimming` | Swimming velocities, yaw rates and radii of curvature at different viscosity ratios and distances from the interface (Figs. 2 and 3). || `03_resistance` | Resistance matrices for the cell body and flagellum calculated separately (Figs. 2 and 3). || `04_yaw` | Critical viscosity ratios for yaw reversal, fits from modified resistive-force theory, and shifts in the reversal point due to lateral force coupling (Fig. 3 and related comparisons). || `05_trajectories` | Swimmer trajectories and time series of pitch and drift angles during approach to the interface (Fig. 4). || `06_far_field` | Flow speed along three observation directions (x, y and z) at viscosity ratios of 0, 5 and infinity, together with numerical checks. || `07_coupled_propulsion` | Axial resistance coefficients with the body and flagellum present together, and swimming speeds from the full calculation and the two axial force balances. || `08_bulk_benchmark` | Digitized reference curves from Higdon and the corresponding swimming-speed data for comparison in an unbounded fluid. | In filenames, `mu2=1e-100` denotes the shear-free limit and `mu2=1e+100` the no-slip limit. `manifest.csv` lists the files, their variables or column names, and their SHA-256 checksums.
