Currently, for perennial crops, such as apple (Malus domestica), there is limited knowledge regarding the molecular mechanisms underlying fruit size and the transcription factors that involved in mdo-miR172-AP2 mediated fruit growth pathway are poorly defined. In the current study, RNA-seq was performed to analyze differentially expressed gene between miR172 overexpression (OE) transgenic small fruit and wild type large fruit at different developmental stages and in different tissues.
