Riverfly Monitoring Initiative RICT Model 44 Targets and Triggers

The data are designed to support the Riverfly Monitoring Initiative by defining: Target Score: the expected RMI score for a monitoring site. Trigger Level: the score that indicates a potential change in ecological condition and signals the need for further investigation. The dataset was produced by the Catchment System Thinking Cooperative (CaSTCo) using the River Invertebrate Classification Tool, Defra Model 44 input variables, and the Open River Network. These data are intended to guide and standardize the interpretation of riverfly monitoring results across England and Wales, supporting early detection of ecological change and promoting catchment-based management. Spatial resolution: 50 m along the river network. Intended use: For setting site-specific riverfly target scores and trigger levels at monitoring locations.
