GIS dataset of Pleistocene and Early Holocene rock art, portable art and archaeological sites

This dataset contains geospatial information on archaeological sites, rock art, and portable art sites from Pleistocene and Early Holocene chronology, organised into multiple GIS layers and accompanied by a QGIS project for data visualisation and exploration. The data are provided in GeoPackage (.gpkg) format and include layers corresponding to archaeological sites, documented rock art, possible rock art occurrences, and portable art assemblages. The dataset has been created to support archaeological research and cultural heritage studies, enabling spatial analysis, integration with other territorial datasets, and reuse in scientific contexts. The included QGIS project allows users to explore the data and visualise the layers according to the original project structure. This is a first public version of an ongoing dataset that will be periodically updated and expanded as new data are incorporated and existing records are revised. Users are therefore encouraged to cite the specific version used in their work. The dataset has been compiled by Iñaki Intxaurbe and is intended for academic and research purposes. For proper use and interpretation, the consultation of the README file is recommended, where detailed information on data structure, coordinate reference systems, and reuse conditions is provided.
