Phylogenetic relationship and characterization of the complete chloroplast genome of Thalictrum foliolosum DC., a folk herbal medicine plant in China

Thalictrum foliolosum DC., a widely distributed species in the family of Thalictrum, is used as a traditional herb medicine in China. In this study, the complete chloroplast (cp) genome was first reported. The cp genome of T. foliolosum was 155,764 bp in length, which contained a large single copy (LSC) region of 70,680 bp, a small single copy (SSC) region of 17,634 bp, and a pair of inverted repeats (IRs) region of 26,521 bp. The overall GC content was 38.50%. Totally 127 unique genes were predicted, including 82 protein-coding genes, 37 tRNA genes, and 8 ribosomal RNA genes. Phylogenetic analysis indicated that T. foliolosum is closely related to T. petaloideum.
