Osteocyte transcriptome from Mus musculus with osteocyte-intrinsic deletion of miR181a/b-1

This project explores the transcriptomic changes in cortical bone RNA from humeri of 8-week-old male and female mice with osteocyte-intrinsic ablation of miR181a/b-1 and their respective controls, as measured by RNA sequencing (n = 3-4 samples/group). RNA was isolated from osteocyte-enriched bone, surrounding soft tissues, epiphyses, and bone marrow were removed. To inhibit miR181a/b-1 expression, microRNA cluster 14 carrying both miR181a-1 and miR181b-1 were excised by 9.6kb Dmp1-Cre at loxP sites 125bp up and downstream of the cluster.
