VPRS 15831 Auxiliaries' Records (GRS 965, GRS 1062)

The Auxiliary Council was established in 1926. The Council and the Auxiliaries were established to assist the Hospital, particularly in the pursuit of fund raising.This record series is an accumulation of records from the Auxiliary Council and some of the Auxiliaries. It comprises Auxiliary Council Minutes for the period 1955-1969, Annual Reports (1975-1977) and financial records for the period 1928-1983.The series includes records, being mainly minutes, for the auxiliaries of Barwon Heads, East Geelong and Inverleigh. GRS 1062 includes minutes of the Newtown Auxiliary for the period 29/3/1926 to 3/6/1991. Minutes are missing for the period April 1954 to September 1957. Annual Reports for the Newtown Auxiliary for the period 1939-1989 are contained in the series although the Reports are not extant for all years. The Newtown Hospital Auxiliary disbanded on 3 June 1991.
