This dataset refers to topographic factor (profile curvature) data for the Yellow River Basin, with a spatial resolution of 12.5 m. The data source is ASF DAAC under the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) of the United States. The data was generated via four core processing steps: preprocessing, tile division, projection transformation, and mosaic-based terrain index calculation. Strict quality inspections were conducted throughout the workflow. To evaluate the reliability of this dataset, a comparative analysis was carried out using the 12.5 m resolution ALOS DEM data of the Yellow River Basin, alongside the contemporaneous 30 m GDEM and 90 m SRTM DEM data. The results show that the 12.5 m ALOS DEM data outperforms GDEM and SRTM data in terrain detail representation, as it can better capture ground gully conditions. This indicates that higher elevation accuracy is a prerequisite for superior terrain expression performance.
