Abstract This article demonstrates that it is possible to find common procedures both in Augusto de Campos and in Machado de Assis when it comes to the choices they made when translating cantos from the Divine Comedy, by Dante Alighieri, showing that the translation-art, term coined by Augusto de Campos, was also practiced by the nineteenth century write. It is also aimed at broadening the understanding we have of Machado de Assis as a translator, by exposing translation procedures adopted at the end of his life as a translator in the text that is, perhaps, his master-piece in translation.
摘要:本文论证,奥古斯托·德·坎波斯(Augusto de Campos)与马查多·德·阿西斯(Machado de Assis)在翻译但丁·阿利吉耶里(Dante Alighieri)《神曲》(Divine Comedy)诗章时所采用的翻译策略存在共通之处,由此表明由奥古斯托·德·坎波斯提出的“翻译艺术(translation-art)”这一概念,同样在这位19世纪作家的实践中得到了贯彻。此外,本文通过披露其晚年作为译者所采用的翻译流程——该译作或许是其翻译生涯的代表作——旨在拓宽学界对马查多·德·阿西斯作为译者的认知维度。
