This study was taken up to understand the impact of three different growth years of Saraca asoca barks on the expression levels of genes involved in the tannin biosynthetic pathways and to identify tannin specific EST-SSR markers. The regulation and expression of Differentially Expressed Genes in pathways leading to tannin biosynthesis across the three ages were also identified. The findings from this study will help in conservation of this endangered tree species.
