SNRI/ADRON Riceweeds

SNRI (Stichting Nationaal Rijstonderzoeks Instituut) is a foundation, mandated to reinvigorate rice research in Suriname through the establishment of a new research centre in Nickerie in 1994. ADRON (Anne van Dijk Rijst Onderzoekscentrum Nickerie) is part of SNRI. The Centre is a vehicle for improving the rice sector. SNRI/ADRON saw the opportunity to set-up and maintain a dried collection of weeds. This need was identified years earlier but not given priority. Digitizing the weeds collection and the establishment of the dried collection will ensure data mobilization of weeds since weeds are a major issue in the rice production ecosystem. The collection contains over 500 weeds collected from the rice fields of Suriname, but mainly from the Nickerie district. Weeds were collected from 2009 until 2013. After a hiatus recollection restarted in 2017.

国家水稻研究基金会（Stichting Nationaal Rijstonderzoeks Instituut，简称SNRI）是一家受委托推动苏里南水稻研究复兴的基金会，其于1994年在尼克里地区设立了全新的研究中心。安妮·范戴克尼克里水稻研究中心（Anne van Dijk Rijst Onderzoekscentrum Nickerie，简称ADRON）隶属于SNRI，该中心是推动当地水稻产业提质升级的核心载体。SNRI与ADRON团队察觉到建立并维护干制杂草标本馆藏的契机——这一需求早在数年前便已被提出，但始终未得到足够重视。对该杂草馆藏进行数字化改造，并完善干制标本馆藏体系，可有效实现杂草研究数据的活化与流通，鉴于杂草是水稻生产生态系统中的主要制约因素。该馆藏共收录500余种杂草标本，采集自苏里南各地稻田，其中绝大多数样本来自尼克里地区。杂草标本采集工作于2009年至2013年间开展，在经历一段空档期后，于2017年重新启动。
