Changes in host gene expression patterns underpin responses of the coral Stylophora pistillata to nutrient stress

Stony corals support the structure and functioning of shallow water tropical reefs and are vital ecosystem engineers. Anthropogenic and natural processes are known to impact corals. The availability and stoichiometry of nutrients are known to impact both the symbiont and coral host. This study provides the transcriptomic repsonses of the coral host to changing nutrient availability and stoichiometry.
