aThe net charge at pH 7.0 and Iso-electric point (pI) were calculated using the Peptide property calculator (http://www.innovagen.se/).
bMean hydrophobicity is the sum of all residue hydrophobicity indices divided by the number of residues. The mean hydrophobic moment is the vectorial sum of residue hydrophobicity indices in an Edmundson projection divided by the number of residues, assuming a projection angle of 100° (canonical α-helix). Both were calculated with the help of HydroMCalc (http://www.bbcm.univ.trieste.it/), using indices from the combined consensus hydrophobicity scale (CCS) [92].
