Bacterial contamination and greenhouse gas emissions – Electronic supplemental material: material compostion and weight of infusion set components.

A randomised controlled study designed to determine the prevalence of bacterial contamination of infusion sets when total intravenous anaesthesia (TIVA) was provided with infusion sets used for single versus multiple procedures. The secondary aim was to quantify the use of infusion set components, the time spent on their assembling, the amount of discarded medications, and the resulting overall emission of CO2 equivalents (CO2-eq) for a practice of single use versus reuse of infusion sets.
