Unveiling the availability and potential of insects for use as animal feed in Rwanda

Insects have emerged as a sustainable and nutritious alternative to traditional sources of food and feed, offering a solution to the challenges of food security and environmental sustainability. This study explores the nutritional value of insects shedding light on their potential to revolutionize global dietary habits and agricultural practices. However, there is limited information on the nutritional quality of insects available in Rwanda. Therefore, this study aims to profile the existing insects and to fill this knowledge gap by investigating the availability and potential of insects for use as animal feed in Rwanda.
