This study focuses on antimicrobial resistance in Enterococcus faecalis and Enterococcus faecium, and the isolation of a Enterococcus phage EFH3 used to induce phage resistance in the host bacterium, and its mechanisms of phage resistance and the associated fitness costs. This study underscores the potential of phage therapy, particularly when combined with antibiotics, to combat MDR Enterococcus infections and suggests phage-induced resensitization of antibiotic resistance as a promising therapeutic approach.
