In situ, meteorological, navigational, physical and profile data collected by US DOC; NOAA; NWS; National Data Buoy Center at OceanSITES site T8S155W from 2006-08-25 to 2016-03-06 (NCEI Accession 0131196)

In situ, meteorological, navigational, physical and profile oceanographic data were collected, including AIR TEMPERATURE, DEPTH - OBSERVATION, HYDROSTATIC PRESSURE, LATITUDE, LONGITUDE, RELATIVE HUMIDITY, SALINITY, SEA SURFACE TEMPERATURE, SIGMA-THETA, WATER TEMPERATURE, WIND DIRECTION and WIND SPEED from Moored Buoy at the TAO/TRITON Site 8S 155W (T8S155W) using GPS, anemometer, conductivity sensor, meteorological sensors, pressure sensors and thermistor from 2006-08-25 to 2016-03-06. These data were provided to one of the OceanSITES Data Assembly Centers (DAC). The DAC formatted this information into the OceanSITES file format and passed it on to the Global Data Assembly Centers (GDAC).

OceanSITES is a worldwide system of long-term, open-ocean reference stations measuring dozens of variables and monitoring the full depth of the ocean from air-sea interactions down to the seafloor. It is a network of stations or observatories measuring many aspects of the ocean's surface and water column using, where possible, automated systems with advanced sensors and telecommunications systems, yielding high time resolution, often in real-time, while building a long record.

本数据集采集了原位气象、导航、物理及剖面海洋学相关数据，采集时段为2006年8月25日至2016年3月6日，采集站点为TAO/TRITON阵列8S 155W站位的锚定浮标（T8S155W），所用设备包括全球定位系统（GPS）、风速计、电导率传感器、气象传感器、压力传感器及热敏电阻器。采集的数据包含：气温、观测水深、静水压、纬度、经度、相对湿度、盐度、海表温度、势密度（SIGMA-THETA）、水温、风向及风速。上述数据已提交至海洋观测网（OceanSITES）数据汇集中心（DAC）之一，该中心将数据整理为OceanSITES标准文件格式后，转交至全球数据汇集中心（GDAC）。
海洋观测网（OceanSITES）是一套全球性长期远洋参考站系统，可观测数十项海洋相关变量，监测从海-气相互作用直至海底的全海洋深度剖面。该网络由多个观测站/观测台组成，尽可能采用搭载先进传感器与通信系统的自动化设备，对海洋表层及水层的多项参数进行监测，可获取高时间分辨率数据（通常为实时数据）并积累长期观测序列。
