We investigated the influence of physical and chemical parameters associated with soil aggregates of different sizes (2mm - <0.056mm) on ammonia-oxidizing archaea (AOA). To address this we collected two field soils (Michigan, US), dry sieve the soils, and used the 16S rRNA amplicon sequencing approach (Illumina MiSeq PE300. crenamoA23f+crenamoA616r (Tourna et al. 2008)).
