U.S. museums with a digital strategy 2020, by organization

According to a study published in October 2020, which collected data prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, most surveyed museums in the United States did not have a digital strategy in 2020. Overall, 31 percent of all museums involved in the research claimed not to have a digital strategy. Meanwhile, 29 percent of the sample stated that their organizations were discussing a digital strategy, but did not have one yet. Looking at the different types of institutions, about 35 percent of history museums claimed not to have a digital strategy, and so stated 28 percent of interviewed art organizations.
