资源简介:
The ventricular-subventricular zone (V-SVZ) is one of the major neurogenic niches in the postnatal human brain. The V-SVZ is critically involved in the maturation and function of brain circuitry. Over the past decade, the V-SVZ has garnered considerable research interest due to their therapeutic potential for neurodevelopmental and neurodegenerative diseases. However, the scarcity and ethical constraints of using perinatal human brain for research studies have pushed researchers to rely on rodent models to study postnatal V-SVZ. Unfortunately, key distinctions between rodent and human V-SVZ prevent rapid translation of research results into clinically relevant advances. In contrast, the cytoarchitecture of the pig V-SVZ is highly similar to human V-SVZ, potentially making pig a better model to study postnatal neurogenesis. Here, we applied single nuclei RNA sequencing to profile the neonatal pig V-SVZ.
