A member tiering system is developed by analyzing the consumption amount, purchase frequency and consumption cycle of members at Jiuzhou Pharmacy Qizhi Street Store in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province. This tiering system can not only support member classification management, personalized precision marketing and service optimization strategy formulation for the store, but also be applied to enterprises and institutions in the pharmaceutical industry that require analysis of consumer behavior patterns and consumption capabilities, including peer pharmaceutical e-commerce and retail enterprises, health management and consulting service institutions, pharmaceutical research and development and production enterprises, financial institutions and insurance companies, etc.
1. Data Source
Data including member information, consumption time and consumption amount were collected from Jiuzhou Pharmacy Qizhi Street Store in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province.
2. Data Processing
Based on the collected data, we analyze the consumption amount (total cumulative expenditure of each member during the one-year statistical cycle), number of purchase transactions (i.e., member purchase frequency), and consumption cycle (i.e., time interval between member purchases to judge their activity level), and determine five member tiers based on the above parameters:
- Core Members: Those with consumption amount ≥ a1, number of purchase transactions ≥ b1, consumption cycle ≤ c1, who contribute the most to the store;
- Regular Members: Those with a2 ≤ consumption amount < a1, b2 ≤ number of purchase transactions < b1, c1 < consumption cycle ≤ c2, who maintain a certain consumption frequency and amount and are a stable customer group;
- Mildly Dormant Members: Those with a3 ≤ consumption amount < a2, b3 ≤ number of purchase transactions < b2, c2 < consumption cycle ≤ c3, who have decreased purchase frequency but still make occasional purchases;
- Moderately Dormant Members: Those with a3 ≤ consumption amount < a2, b3 ≤ number of purchase transactions < b2, c2 < consumption cycle ≤ c3, who have extended consumption intervals and significantly reduced purchase frequency;
- Deeply Dormant Members: Those with 0 ≤ consumption amount < a3, number of purchase transactions < b3, c3 < consumption cycle ≤ 12, who have not made any purchases for a long time and are almost inactive;
- Severely Dormant Members: Those with 0 consumption amount, 0 purchase transactions, consumption cycle > 12, who are even less active than deeply dormant members and require special reactivation strategies.
The specific values of a1, a2, a3 for consumption amount, b1, b2, b3 for number of purchase transactions, and c1, c2, c3 for consumption cycle are trade secrets of the applicant enterprise.
